Good Sunday Morning, friends!
Thanks to my diligence during the weekdays, I awoke bright and early this morning with nothing on my agenda but coffee and Food Network!
Because my weekdays start so early, I never have time to make a big bowl of oats for breakfast. On the weekends, I love to make up for it with a nice bowl of Sunday Oats! ![]()
I like mine pretty simple, with cinnamon, vanilla, banana, and peanut butter.
I like them better from the microwave than on the stove, so they come together so easily! When you cook the banana with them, it gets gooey and delicious!
Sunday Oats
1/4 cup each Old Fashioned Oats, milk, water
sprinkle of cinnamon
splash of vanilla
1 banana, sliced
Mix everything together and microwave for 2 minutes. Stir.
Add in a tablespoon or so of your favorite nut butter. This morning, I choose Skippy Natural (with that ugly word covered up!)
Microwave another minute and voila! Sunday Oats!
I don’t find oats to be the most photogenic food in the world, but with the sun shining down on them out on my porch this morning, I think they look mighty nice!
Off to church!
Have a great Sunday!
I love Sundays like that! Mine started with a large cup of coffee and the Food Network!
You made oats look pretty good, actually!!
I love oatmeal! Fave breakfast of all time, hands down!
And you’re definitely right, they are unphotogenic, but those do look pretty darn good. I always add banana to oatmeal after it’s been cooked, so I’m definitely going to have to try cooking it WITH the banana. Thanks for the tip
Yes! Do try! Especially if you like gooey things!
