This afternoon, I went with my friends, Will and Jacquie, to Legend Brewing Company for their 17th Anniversary Party. Our co-worker, Wade, was performing guitar at the party, and offered us free tickets to the event. Free music, food, and beer? Sign me up!
This sign was in the original pub that sits beneath the existing bar. It leads right into the brewery . . .
Thousands of gallons of beer! I had never been in a brewery before and it was really cool. Rows and rows of beer tanks, bags of grain stacked high, and this guy:
My co-worker, Wade, playing right in the middle of the brewery! How fun! See the stacked up bags of grain in the background? And Wade’s beer cup holder attached to his mic stand? Too funny!
Our free tickets included not only admission, but 3 tickets good for beer and food. I tried the Hopfest, which, as I’m sure you can guess, was really hoppy! It had a great floral flavor that I totally dug!
It was delish, but it totally kicked my butt! Guess I’m a bit of a lightweight when it comes to stronger beers.
We hung out and chatted for a while while listening to Wade’s set. Jacquie is 9 months pregnant, so naturally, we had to pose by the kegs and giant cask!
They have a great patio outside, so I’m looking forward to going back for happy hour once the weather is warm. They have a great view of the city!

Even though I ate at the party, I wanted a little something sweet when I got home! I think I may have gotten a little carried away . . .
Um, yeah. That would be a Party of One Chocolate Lava Cake!
I had these Godiva Dark Chocolate Pearls in my pantry, and they got my mind working!
Remembering a recipe I usually make for my family on Christmas Eve, I made a few adjustments and turned it into a decadent dessert for one!
Warning: this is not for the faint of heart.
Individual Chocolate Lava Cake
Based on this recipe.
4 T. butter
One whole container Godiva Dark Chocolate Pearls (or 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips)
1 egg
1/4 cup + 2 T. sugar (superfine is better if you have it)
1.5 T flour
Melt the butter in the chocolate in the microwave for about 1 minute, stirring until chocolate is fully melted. Set aside to cool.
In a separate bowl, whisk egg, sugar, and flour until fully incorporated. Add cooled chocolate mixture and blend completely.
Transfer into a buttered ramekin (or 2 buttered ramekins if you feel like sharing!) and bake at 400* for 20 minutes.
Check out the height on this puppy!
Fluffy on top and ooey gooey underneath!
Demolished.
I’d say that’s enough to kick the Sunday Night Blues in the face!

You do so many fun things!!!! SO jeal
You are always invited to join me! I think you do your fair share of fun stuff, too, though!
That looks SO delicious! If I weren’t in class right now, I’d go out and make it right now
